Dr. Thomas P. Pontinen is a 2008-graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis, MN. His postgraduate training includes his general surgery residency served at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia in Philadelphia, PA (2008 – 2010), as well as his anesthesiology residency performed at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, IL (2010 – 2013), where he also conducted his pain management fellowship (2013 – 2014). Dr. Pontinen completed his undergraduate education, i.e., his Magna Cum Laude Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management and Advertising, at the University of St Thomas in St. Paul, MN (2003). He attained board certification in anesthesiology and pain management with the American Board of Anesthesiology.
